Media Briefing by South
African Human Rights Commission
The South African Human Rights Commission
Chairperson, Dr. Barney Pityana, Dr. Razag Bara, vice chair of the African Commission on
Human and People’s Rights, and Madame Michelle Farladeau-Ramsey, will give a media
briefing on the statement of National Institutions on the conference. Whilst National
Institutions (Human Rights Bodies) are observers at this conference, they have a
tremendous role to play in the follow up to the world conference, particularly because of
their role in ensuring promotion and protection of human dignity.
