Safety and Security
The South African Government will be responsible for safety
and security of all participants and venues not withstanding the role of the United
Nations Security Division, especially at the International Convention Center (ICC).
South African Police Service
The South African Police Services, assisted by other
Security Services of the Republic eg. South African National Defence Force (SANDF),
National Intelligence Agency (NIA), South African Secret Service (SASS) and the Durban
Metro Police, will endeavour to create an environment conducive for delegates to
participate without any fear at the conference.
Venues
All conference venues will be protected in terms of our
mission statement, which is to provide a safe and secure environment to the World
Conference Against Racism, through the application of Risk Management Principles: by
establishing uncompromising security measure, limiting the probability of a critical
incident occurring and limiting the impact of any critical incidents through contingency
planning.
